After enjoying a big meal, you sat down in front of your LCD TV watching a football game to relax. Then suddenly, you feel something happen inside your body. You suddenly felt a burning sensation that begins in the upper abdomen and makes its way behind the breastbone. Your chest feels like it’s on fire and the pain is radiating from your diaphragm to your throat.

The pain is accompanied by a bitter or sour taste and you feel as if food is reentering your mouth.

What you just experienced is a severe case of heartburn.

Although the name suggests that it may be related to the heart, you have to remember that heartburn has nothing to do with the heart. This is in fact a digestive problem where the stomach acid comes in to contact with the lining of the esophagus, which causes irritation.

A lot of people suffer from an occasional heartburn. Usually, we experience it right after a meal. However, you have to remember that there is such a thing as a chronic heartburn and this may have a negative effect on your life.

So, how can you tell if you are already suffering from a chronic heartburn?

Well, if you experience heartburn once a month, this is considered to be acute or mild. If you experience heartburn once a week, this is a moderate case of heartburn. But, when you experience heartburn in an everyday basis, this is what is considered as a chronic or severe case of heartburn.

For people who experiences mild cases of heartburn, this can be easily be managed with a change in diet. Over the counter antacids may also help as well as losing weight. People who suffer from moderate cases of heartburn can use these methods to find relief from heartburn. However, the mentioned remedies will only give partial or temporary relief to people suffering from severe or chronic heartburn.

The main cause of heartburn is when the stomach acid backs up or refluxes to the esophagus. This can happen for several reasons.

The first is when the lower esophageal sphincter or LES is weakened or relaxed and doesn’t do its job properly. The LES is what keeps the stomach acid in the stomach. Basically, this is the most common symptom for GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.

Sugars, fatty foods, peppermint, coffee, chocolate, and alcohol can weaken or relax the LES, which can let stomach acid reflux to the esophagus, causing heartburn.

Eating large meals before bedtime can also cause heartburn. Obesity, frequent bending over, lifting, and wearing very tight clothes can produce pressure on the stomach, which in turn causes heartburn.

Smoking and certain medications can also trigger heartburn as well as stress as this is known to increase acid production and slows down the emptying of the stomach.

Mild heartburn may be considered to be more of a nuisance than a condition. But, if you are suffering from chronic heartburn, you have to remember that this is a serious condition, which can cause scarring of the esophagus. When this happens, it may be very hard or even painful for you to swallow food. This can also increase the likelihood of developing cancer of the esophagus.

These are the reasons why you should understand heartburn. By knowing about it, you will be able to treat it effectively. A change in diet is enough to treat mild heartburn but if you are experiencing severe heartburn on a daily basis, you may want to set up an appointment with your doctor to diagnose your condition.

If you experienced a bad case of heartburn before then you know how painful and uncomfortable this condition can be. In fact, it can be so painful that you may not be able to do any of your activities.

You have to know that there are several causes of heartburn. By knowing about the common causes of heartburn, you will be able to have an idea on how you can prevent it from happening to you or at least reduce its occurrence.

First of all, you need to know that heartburn, despite its name, is in no way related to any heart condition. Heartburn is primarily a digestive condition where stomach acid comes in contact with the esophagus. When this happens, the acid will irritate the esophagus, causing you to feel a burning sensation that starts on your diaphragm and makes its way up to your chest. It is also accompanied by a bitter or sour taste in your mouth, which is basically the stomach acid your body regurgitated. This is what you will feel when you experience heartburn.

In most cases, heartburn occurs a few hours after eating. The pain can last for many hours and this condition will make you feel as if food is stuck on your chest or your throat. If not treated, heartburn can result to a more serious condition, such as scarring of the esophagus and on rare cases, it can even cause cancer of the esophagus.

So, what causes you to experience heartburn?

Primarily, diet is the main culprit for experiencing heartburn. Certain foods are notorious for causing heartburn. Included are fatty and fried food, garlic, mint, tomatoes, and chocolate. Spicy food is also notorious for causing heartburn.

There are also beverages that you must avoid. Acidic beverages, such as orange juice and sodas as well as alcohol and coffee are known to cause heartburn. You really don’t have to give up drinking these things but you have to limit it or control it. You should also drink more water in order to neutralize stomach acid.

You also need to remember that some exercise routines can cause heartburn. Some exercises can reverse the flow of digestion, which will force stomach acid back in to the esophagus, which will cause heartburn.

These exercises include somersaults, forward rolls and other exercises that require you to be upside down.

If you experience heartburn during nighttime or when you are about to go to sleep, the most likely culprit would be your bed. Elevate your body position when you sleep with pillows in order to make gravity work for you by keeping stomach acid inside the stomach.

These are the common causes of heartburn. As you can see, there are ways on how you can prevent heartburn from happening or at least manage it effectively. It’s just a matter of making small lifestyle modifications, such as changing your diet and exercise routines.

Keep these things in mind and you can be sure that you will be able to prevent or at least reduce the frequency of heartburn.

Have you ever experienced feeling a burning sensation that starts in your upper abdomen and builds up just behind your breastbone and that the pain and burning sensation is often accompanied by a sour taste in your mouth? If you have, then you are suffering from a condition called heartburn.

Although most people do experience heartburn once in a while, you have to remember that this condition is something that you shouldn’t take lightly, especially if you have a chronic case of this condition.

Chronic heartburn is when you experience this condition every single day or almost every day. If this is the case, then you may want to go to your doctor and have it checked. Leaving chronic heartburn untreated can lead to more severe complications that will significantly have a negative effect on your life.

So, what causes heartburn and why should you take it seriously?

For starters, heartburn happens when the stomach acid refluxes or backs up in to the esophagus. This can happen because of several reasons.

The first reason is that the lower esophageal sphincter or LES is weakened or relaxed and doesn’t do its job properly. Basically, the LES is the valve that keeps the stomach acid in the stomach. If it doesn’t work properly, it will allow the stomach acid to come in contact with the esophagus, which in turn causes heartburn. This is a common symptom of GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.

Another cause is by eating certain foods, such as fried and fatty foods, chocolates, coffee, peppermint, sugars, and alcohol. These foods weaken or relax the LES.

Eating large meals shortly before bedtime can also cause heartburn. When you eat large meals, the production of stomach acid increases and when you lie down immediately after eating a large meal to go to bed, your body is in the perfect position for the stomach acid to reflux or come in contact with the esophagus.

Hiatal hernia is another cause of heartburn. This condition is a result of a weakening of the tissues that supports the digestive tract. This condition occurs when a part of the upper stomach slips up through the hiatus and in to the chest. Depending on the size and position of the hernia, this can cause heartburn and even chest pain.

Smoking can also cause heartburn. This is because the nicotine inside cigars and cigarettes weaken the LES. And, as you may already know, if the LES is weakened, it may not function properly and will let the stomach acid flow in to the esophagus, which will ultimately cause heartburn.

Stress is another known cause of heartburn. It has been found that stress can increase the acid production in the stomach and slows down the emptying of the stomach, causing heartburn.

These are the causes of heartburn. Mild cases of heartburn are more of a nuisance rather than a condition. But, if you have a severe case of heartburn, you may want to get it checked and treated by a doctor immediately. This is because chronic cases of heartburn can cause severe complications. It can cause scarring of the esophagus, which can make it difficult for you to swallow food and even liquids. Leaving it untreated can also lead to a condition called Barrett’s esophagus. This condition is where cells similar to the lining of the stomach start to develop in the lower esophagus. This condition can increase your risk of developing cancer of the esophagus, which is very hard to detect and very hard to treat.

These are the causes of heartburn. As you can see, heartburn should be taken seriously especially if have a chronic case or when you experience it almost every day. Get heartburn treated and you can be sure that you will be able to continue living a normal life.

Millions of people suffer from chronic heartburn. This is a very serious gastric disorder that can disable from living your life normally.

Most people think that heartburn is mainly caused by the foods they eat. However, this is not really the cause. You have to remember that heartburn occurs when the stomach acid travels up or refluxes in to the esophagus.

In most cases, this happens when you lie down after having a big meal. Heartburn can cause a painful burning sensation on your chest and this can really prevent you from having a good night sleep. Sometimes, heartburns can be so painful that it can prevent you from living your life normally.

This is mainly the reason why you have to know how to manage or treat heartburn in order for you to live a more normal life. By learning about the different ways to manage and treat heartburn, you will be able to lessen its frequency and also help you break free from having the heartburn condition controlling your life.

Gastric acid reflux or heartburn occurs because of several reasons.

By knowing about the different reasons that causes heartburn, you will be able to know how to prevent it from happening or at least take control of it.

One of the main causes of heartburn is the weakening of the sphincter. Basically, the sphincter acts as a valve that prevents stomach acid from reaching the esophagus. When it is relaxed or is weakened, stomach acid can get through the sphincter and eventually irritate it and cause heartburn.

So, just what causes the sphincter to weaken or relax?

There are certain foods that can weaken the sphincter. Foods such as chocolates, coffee, alcohol, peppermint, fried and fatty food, as well as soda and citric fruits like oranges and pineapple.

You should also avoid spicy foods as they are very difficult to digest, which causes the stomach to produce more acid, which ultimately means increasing the likelihood of heartburn.

Drinking a cup of green tea or any herbal tea will help reduce the frequency of heartburn. This is because the tea will reduce unwanted toxins in your body, which is mainly one of the causes of increased stomach acid production. By cleaning your digestive system from toxins, stomach acid production will decrease, which in turn will also decrease the likelihood of heartburn.

You should also drink plenty of water instead of taking carbonated drinks. If you can, try to drink water that is in room temperature. This will help flush down toxins and it will also help dilute the acid in your stomach. In case you are experiencing heartburn, one great way to get relief from its symptoms is to drink water with baking soda. It may not taste good but it will surely reduce the burning sensation as well as the pain.

These are some of the ways on how you can break free from chronic heartburn. Always remember that the most effective way to treat heartburn is to treat the causes instead of treating the symptoms. By doing so, you will see that heartburn occurrence will be less frequent and you will be able to regain control of your life.

Heartburn and acid reflux affects millions of people around the world. Although there are medications, which are suggested by doctors that can help with this condition, these medications may not always be helpful.

This is why you have to know about the different home remedies that can help in managing heartburn and acid reflux. These home remedies can really help in decreasing the frequency of heartburn and it will also lessen your dependence on drugs to treat heartburn.

Basically, heartburn is a digestive disorder that is a result of living an unhealthy lifestyle. The foods we eat are primarily one of the causes of heartburn, especially today where the food available is not always healthy for our stomach and for our overall health.

The key to managing and treating heartburn is to make some lifestyle changes. This means that you have to quit the bad habits you have. These bad habits include smoking and drinking too much alcohol. Eating fried and fatty foods can also cause heartburn.

You have to remember that cigarettes contain nicotine, which adds to the production of acids in your stomach. It also irritates your esophagus and will loosen the sphincter, which is primarily responsible for keeping stomach acid in the stomach and prevent it from coming in contact with the esophagus.

Another option that you can do to treat heartburn is to take natural supplements that are known to treat heartburn. Today, you will find plenty of food and dietary supplements known to manage and treat heartburn. For example, eating an apple a day together with a glass of lukewarm water can help lessen the frequency of heartburn.

You can also consider consuming baking soda with water, which is also known as a very effective heartburn remedy. Although this may not taste as good as a soda, this will help heartburn sufferers by neutralizing stomach acid and eliminating gas bubbles in your stomach.

You also have to keep in mind that eating too much spicy and fatty food can be very harmful for heartburn patients. These foods are very difficult to digest, which means that your stomach has to produce extra acid to digest it.

It is also very helpful to eat meals early at night. This will help give your stomach time to let the acid subside before you lie down and go to bed.

You should also stop wearing tight clothes as these clothes can produce pressure on your midsection forcing stomach contents, including stomach acid, to go up.

Lastly, you should start losing weight. This will help relieve heartburn symptoms and you will also look better and feel more energetic if you do.

These are the home remedies that you can do in order for you to manage heartburn effectively. Remember these tips and you can be sure that heartburn will not take control of you life and you will also lessen your dependency on medications to treat heartburn.

So, the next time you experience heartburn, you may want to cut down on fatty food and eat an apple a day. This will not only help in treating heartburn but it will also help keep your body healthy.

Heartburn is a condition where you will feel an uncomfortable burning sensation in your chest. And, you have to remember that although the pain caused by heartburn is felt in the chest, this condition is in no way related to the heart or any heart related diseases.

Basically, heartburn is a digestive condition where stomach acid refluxes and comes in contact with the esophagus.

A lot of people experiences heartburn for at least once every month. However, if you continue experiencing heartburn every day, then you are suffering from a chronic or severe type of heartburn, which can prevent you from living a normal life.

Chronic heartburn is also a sign or symptom of a more serious condition called GERD or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease.

Frequent heartburn will prevent you from living normally. It will limit your daily activities and it can also lead to further complications, such as ulcers in your esophagus and Barrett’s esophagus.

You need to understand heartburn in order for you to treat it properly.

Today, around 30 percent of the adult population in the country experiences occasional heartburn. Around 10 to 15 percent of the adult population experiences the condition every day.

So, what are the symptoms of heartburn that you should watch out for?

Well, you basically need to watch out for that burning feeling in the chest. The sensation may also spread up in to the throat, jaw, and even on the back. Because of the location where pain is felt, heartburn is often mistaken for chest pain caused by heart attack. However, you need to remember that you should never try and second guess yourself when you feel chest pain for any reason.

It’s also easy to mistake a heart attack with heartburn, which is why you have to seek medical attention immediately after feeling any type of chest pain. Never rule out heart attack as a cause of chest pain even if you frequently experience heartburn.

In most cases, heartburn will occur 30 to 60 minutes after meals. The pain will worsen if you lie down or when you bend forward. The pain will also get worse if you strain to pass stools. The best thing that you can do is to stand upright, swallow saliva or water, and take antacids.

If the stomach acid travels beyond the esophagus and makes its way in to your mouth, you will experience a bitter or sour taste. This is called regurgitation and is common after eating meals especially when you lie down, bend over or strain.

You need to keep in mind that frequent heartburn means exposing your esophagus to stomach acid for long periods of time. Your esophagus may get damaged and this may lead to difficulty in swallowing. In more serious cases, you may even lose weight and become frequently dehydrated.

In rare cases, you may vomit blood or have small amounts of blood in your stool. However, these are uncommon but you still have to be on the lookout for the signs and symptoms.

These are basically the symptoms that you have to watch out for. Heartburn is not really that serious if you only experience it once a month. But, if you experience it every day, it may be time for you to seek medical help.

Today, millions of people experiences heartburn. Some have mild cases of it while others have chronic or severe cases of heartburn.

If you are also experiencing heartburn, then it would be wise if you follow these tips in order for you to properly manage or control it and prevent it from taking control of your life. You see, heartburn is a painful condition where you will experience pain often described as a burning sensation on the chest.

Although the name heartburn suggests that it may be an illness associated with the heart, it’s actually not. Heartburn is a digestive condition where stomach acid flows out from the stomach and comes in contact with the esophagus. Sometimes you will regurgitate and taste something bitter or sour in your mouth during an episode of heartburn.

This is because the stomach acid may have reached your mouth, which explains the sour or bitter taste.

Mild cases of heartburn are considered more of a nuisance than a real condition that can have a large impact on people’s life. It can be managed and controlled through self-care. But, if you have chronic heartburn, you may need to seek professional medical help as self-care at home may only provide temporary or partial relief.

For mild or occasional symptoms of heartburn, a few lifestyle modifications will go a long way in helping you with your heartburn problem.

To start, you may want to avoid large meals. Large meals are usually the cause of heartburn. This is because large meals tend to overwhelm the stomach and it will produce excessive stomach acid in order to digest excessive food. Instead of eating 3 large meals a day, go for around 6 smaller meals a day. This will keep acid production in check and eventually prevent or at least lessen heartburn.

You should also avoid foods and beverages that reduce pressure on the LES or the lower esophageal sphincter. This means that you have to avoid food like peppermint, chocolate, coffee or any other beverages or food that contains caffeine, and fatty or fried foods.

You also have to lessen your consumption of food that damages the esophagus, such as spicy food, tomatoes, citrus juices and fruits, and even tomato sauces.

After a big meal, you need to take a rest for at least 2 to 3 hours. Avoid doing any activities that forces acid back in to the esophagus, such as lifting, straining, and coughing. You also have to avoid wearing tight fitting clothes as this can produce pressure on your midsection forcing stomach contents, such as stomach acid, upwards to your esophagus.

After eating, avoid lying down. Use gravity to your advantage. Sit, stand up or walk around for at least 3 hours after a big meal. If you constantly experience night time heartburn, try to elevate the head of your bed when you sleep. But, you should never use more pillows under your head. Instead, use a wedge under the mattress or place a 6 inch block under the head of the bed.

If you are overweight, you should start losing weight. And, you also have to stop smoking if you do smoke as nicotine can damage your LES or lower esophageal sphincter.

Taking antacids can also work. This works by neutralizing the acid in your stomach and it should be taken 1 hour after meals or when you feel heartburn symptoms starting.

You can also take advantage of drugs that block the production of stomach acids. Low doses of these drugs are available over the counter.

These are the self-care and medical treatments that you can consider if you are suffering from heartburn. By keeping these things in mind, you can be sure that you will be able to effectively manage heartburn and take control of your life again.

Heartburn is an age old condition that millions of people experiences. Also known as acid reflux and pyrosis, heartburn is in no way related to the heart. As a matter of fact, heartburn is a digestive condition.

Heartburn happens when we regurgitate stomach acid and when it reaches our esophagus. It irritates that esophagus and causes a burning sensation that starts on the diaphragm and make its way up just behind the breastbone. In most cases, it is also accompanied by a bitter and sour taste, which is mainly the stomach acid making its way in to your mouth.

So, what causes stomach acid to flow up to the esophagus?

There are several explanations on why this happens but one of the main reasons is the food we eat.

You need to know that certain foods increase the likelihood of us experiencing heartburn. So, by changing our diet, you will be able to find relief from heartburn and even decrease its frequency. This means that you may need to give up or limit some of the foods you eat in order for you to prevent experiencing heartburn.

So, what are the foods that you can eat and what are the foods that you should avoid?

• Foods To Avoid

If you constantly experience heartburn, you may want to cut down on the consumption of citrus fruits. You have to remember that citrus fruits and juices are acidic in nature. You need to keep in mind that your goal is to stop acid from reaching your esophagus and by eating citrus fruits, which are acidic in nature, you are worsening the problem.

This means that you may need to avoid fruits, such as oranges and grapefruits. Tomatoes are also acidic and it should also be avoided. However, keep in mind that consuming these fruits is still important as they are very rich in vitamins and minerals. But, you have to limit yourself in consuming these fruits.

Spicy foods can also increase the risk of acid problems. If you love spicy food and you have a problem with heartburn, it may be time for you to limit your consumption of food containing chili, peppers, and hot curries to name a few.

Chocolate is another type of food you should avoid as it is a known trigger for heartburn. This is because chocolate relaxes the LES or the Lower Esophageal Sphincter. The LES acts as a valve to keep stomach acid from pouring in to your esophagus. When it is relaxed, stomach acid can freely bypass the LES and reach your esophagus, which in turn causes heartburn.

Fatty foods should also be avoided. This is because they are hard to digest. And, when the stomach is having a hard time digesting food, it will produce more acid, which is what you don’t want your body to do if you are suffering from heartburn.

• Foods To Eat

Apples and bananas are great for helping you deal with heartburn. This is because they help dissolve acid in your stomach.

Vegetables are also great for controlling acid problems in your stomach. Eat vegetables that are alkaline in nature, such as green cabbage, carrots, broccoli, and sprouts. Not only that they will help you with your heartburn problem, but these vegetables will be beneficial for your overall health.

You should also increase your daily water intake. This will help dilute the acid in your stomach, which will make it less potent.

Lastly, if you must eat meat, you have to eat lean meat that has little fat on it. Chicken, fish and turkey are acceptable meats that can help decrease the likelihood of you experiencing heartburn.

These are the foods that you can and cannot eat. By following these tips, you can be sure that you will be able to solve your heartburn problem. Just remember that if you experience heartburn despite the changes you made in your diet, you have to see your doctor. This may already be a sign of a more serious health problem.

Like you, millions of people today suffer from heartburn and most of them are constantly searching for drugs and treatment methods for relief. You have to keep in mind that heartburn is a condition that existed for thousands of years and modern medicine have yet to find a cure for this condition.

You also have to understand that heartburn is in no way related to the heart. It’s simply called heartburn because you will feel a burning sensation on your chest. Heartburn is in fact a digestive condition. This is where the stomach acid comes in contact with the esophagus causing irritation and ultimately causing heartburn. And, you will also taste something bitter or sour when you experience heartburn. This is mainly the stomach acid reaching your throat and mouth.

Most people treat heartburn symptoms through lifestyle modification and the use of antacids. But, for some people, this doesn’t work. If you still suffer from heartburn symptoms despite making lifestyle changes and using antacids, it may be a sign that you are suffering from a more serious condition where heartburn is only a symptom.

If this is so, then your health care provider or doctor may prescribe you some of these drugs.

After antacids, the next group of drugs that you may need to take for easing heartburn symptoms is histamine-2 blockers. Most drugs of this type may be purchased over the counter and what it does is that it decreases the amount of acid that your stomach produces.

Usually, they are taken twice a day and they provide relief from heartburn within 30 minutes of taking it. You have to remember that although it can be purchased over the counter, you still need a doctor’s prescription for higher doses.

If you still continue to experience heartburn, the doctor may recommend adding a drug, such as metoclopramide. This drug will empty food and acid from your stomach quickly. This will lessen the amount of food and acid traveling back in to the esophagus. It will also help tighten the LES or lower esophageal sphincter muscle to keep stomach acid inside the stomach.

Proton pump inhibitors may also be prescribed by your doctor if you continue to experience heartburn. This type of drug will prevent the stomach from secreting acid. Usually taken once a day, these drugs are usually very effective in easing heartburn symptoms. And, these drugs are usually prescribed if no other drugs helped your heartburn condition.

There are also surgical procedures that can help your problem with heartburn. Surgery is usually done if no prescription drugs helped in relieving heartburn or if you are already experiencing serious complications from heartburn. The surgery is a simple procedure and is called fundoplication. This procedure will tighten your LES muscle and the muscle will be tied in such a way to prevent acid from flowing back in to the esophagus.

This surgical procedure produced 85 percent success rate and is the last resort for treating heartburn.

These are the different types of drugs and surgery that you can consider if you are suffering from heartburn. If antacids no longer work, you may want to try and consulting your doctor about your heartburn problem. They may prescribe the mentioned drugs and may even recommend surgery if the drugs no longer work in providing relief from heartburn.

Millions of people in the country suffer from heartburn or what is also known as acid reflux. Although most adults experience this condition, having a chronic heartburn can definitely become a huge problem that it can affect your entire life in a very negative way.

As a heartburn sufferer, you will always hear doctors telling you to take drugs in order to relieve the symptoms. And, they will also tell you that heartburn cannot be cured.

However, this is not always true as there are quite a lot of people who have successfully treated heartburn without depending too much on medications.

A lot of heartburn sufferers today are what you can call pill poppers because they are told by medical professionals that taking drugs is the only way to alleviate the symptoms associated by heartburn. This means that whenever they experience heartburn, they pop the pills to relieve the symptoms. This is not really a good thing to do as you will become dependent on the pills and you are actually letting heartburn take control of your life.

If you are open minded enough, you may want to try out alternative treatments for heartburn instead of just popping those heartburn pills whenever you experience the symptoms. In fact, you will find that there are lots of ways to regain control of your life from heartburn. All you need to do is open your mind.

By doing so, you will not only be able to treat heartburn and reduce its frequency but you will also save a lot of money on the process.

Basically, the best way to treat heartburn is to stop its causes. By knowing what is causing heartburn, you will be able to know how to prevent the causes and ultimately, treat heartburn effectively.

Heartburn is basically caused by stomach acid getting in contact with the esophagus. When this happens, the acid will irritate the esophagus, which in turn will cause heartburn.

You will often find that heartburn is associated with a sour taste in the mouth. This is actually the stomach acid that you taste, which explains the sour taste.

Eating big meals will worsen your heartburn problem because your body or your stomach will produce excess acid in order to digest huge amounts of food. This is why you have to try and eat smaller meals at least 6 times a day instead of eating 3 large meals a day. This will lessen your stomach’s production of acid, which will help in managing heartburn.

You should also try to avoid foods that weaken the sphincter. You have to keep in mind that the sphincter acts as a valve that keeps the stomach acid in the stomach. When you eat certain foods that weaken or relax the sphincter, it will allow stomach acid to reach the esophagus, which ultimately causes heartburn. This means you should avoid coffee, chocolates, onions, peppermint, and citric fruits, such as oranges and pineapple.

If you are a smoker and you frequently experience heartburn, then you may want to stop smoking. Cigarettes and cigars contain nicotine, which can weaken the sphincter and cause acid from stomach to come in contact with the esophagus.

These are some of the ways on how you can control and manage heartburn. By getting rid of the causes, you will be able to take control of your life again and prevent heartburn from ruining your life.
